This unique KoAloha was made with a rare local wood that looks and sounds beautiful. Pacific almond, aka tropical almond, aka false kamani, is a hard wood that grows in tropical environments like Hawai’i. It has been used for many years to make canoes all across Polynesia. Every false kamani board is very unique and this one comes from a tree here on our island of Oahu with a beautiful feathering in the wood that shimmers with various colors in the light.
Tonally this still has the classic KoAloha concert sound we’ve always loved but is a bit warmer in the midrange compared to their standard koa models which makes for a very sweet sounding concert. Corey goes over this limited model and gives us a sound sample.
